“TEXT ME WHEN YOU GET HOME.”
The friend who waits for the message. Who circles back the next morning. Who notices when someone's quieter than usual. Nobody asked him to. That's what makes it matter.
The first-time father. The group caretaker. The mentor who helped you become yourself. Not all dads have kids. Not all rookies are young.
Meet Rookie Dad ↗Join the Crew ↗Maybe it’s someone who raised you. Maybe it’s the friend who never lets you disappear into the background. Maybe it’s who you’re becoming. Choose a story.
He’s thirty and holding his baby for the first time. He doesn’t know all the answers. He learns as he goes, and shows up anyway.

Someone who notices. Someone who remembers. Someone who makes you feel like you matter. Becoming that person is worth striving for—even when you don't get it exactly right.
In my group of friends, I'm the youngest. And somehow, I'm also the mother hen.
I'm the one checking that everybody got home, making sure no one gets left behind, noticing when somebody might need a little extra attention. Not because I have everything figured out. It's just how I try to love my people.
Over time, I realized the people who have meant the most to me often did something surprisingly simple: they made me feel seen.
That feeling doesn't belong only to parents and children. It belongs to friends, partners, mentors, neighbors, and the families we choose.
Rookie Dad grew out of that feeling—and the desire to pass it along.
Not every father figure is a father. Not every act of care is dramatic. Sometimes the smallest gestures stay with us the longest.

Maybe it was a coach, an uncle, a teacher, or someone you never expected to notice. They remembered your name, believed in you, and made you feel a little bigger than you felt that day.
For some of us, family is built as much as it is inherited. It's the people who save you a seat, make the introduction, and make belonging feel effortless.

Maybe it's someone you know. Maybe it's who you're becoming. Choose a moment that feels familiar.
Sometimes being in somebody's corner takes ten seconds. You remember those ten seconds for years.
Nobody has it all figured out. Not fatherhood. Not friendship. Not relationships. Not life.
We miss things. We make mistakes. Sometimes we say the wrong thing. Sometimes we don't say enough.
But we believe there's something worth striving for: being the person who notices when someone needs a friend. Who remembers the little things. Who makes people feel welcome, appreciated, and loved.
We believe strength and kindness belong together. That looking after yourself and looking after others aren't competing priorities. And that the smallest gestures can leave the biggest impressions.
We don't always get it right. That's not the point.
We keep showing up.
We keep learning.
We keep trying.
Being a Rookie Dad isn't a badge of achievement. It's a declaration of intent.
